Anyone know if this is actually tougher than bovine leather?

I'm not sure if it's tougher at the same thickness, but I know that
the thickness of a rhino's skin ranges between 1 1/2 cm (beneath the
horn and along parts of the belly) to 5 cm (atop its head). I'd
imagine it'd make quite a tough armor - though a bitch to tan, and too
rigid to be worn around the joints by a human who hopes to /move/.

Alternately, you could make a vest out of its belly leather and a
helmet out of the skin of its head.
