A bit of a spoiler space

And a bit more

Ok i have a campain that is set in Rome around 90 AD. Sofar i have kept
the campain moderatly realistic and i intend to keep it there. Meaning
among other i try to stick to historic technology.

Another feature that would still be popular (or not, depending on personal belief) would be defixiones (curse tablets) posted at prominent locations, calling upon the gods to punish burglars or turncoat servants who might be misusing the tunnel against the owner. The punishment may be specified, but was often left to the imagination. The E.O. may find satisfaction in arranging to call upon a selection of gods chosen so that no one person is likely to be favored by all.

A mechanically simple but suitably intellectually challenging trap would be to place an obviously valuable item under the immediate location of such a tablet, that harms the taker if they are not deterred by divine retribution. A ring with a piece of razor-sharp metal on the inside or a money pouch that also contains counterfeit coins and a scorpion are both good choices.
