This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Anachronistic SRBM TEL v1.0 (TL6)
  Copyright 2007 by Onno Meyer

In some alternate history stories, one side finds efficient uses for
historical technologies. In other novels, genuine time travelers bring
modern concepts with them. This ballistic missile carrier looks like a
SCUD transporter/erector/launcher, a heavy truck with a missile gantry,
hydraulics to raise the missile and fire control systems to aim it.
It is very difficult to intercept a ballistic missile with 1940s-era
technology, and the TEL can move quickly after each launch. This makes
the SRBM a good choice for the side which lost the air war. The other
side would find heavy bombers more cost-effective. In a game, the TEL
is probably best used as a high-value target for commando raids.
At routine travel speed, the diesel engine burns 24 gallons per hour
and the APU burns 0.2 gallons. A tank of diesel is $72 and one missile
is $400,000.
