This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Anachronistic Tactical Bomber v1.0 (TL6)
  Copyright 2007 by Onno Meyer

In some alternate history stories, one side finds efficient uses for
historical technologies. In other novels, genuine time travelers bring
modern concepts with them. This bomber combines early jet engines with
a streamlined airframe to outrun any prop interceptor or historical
jet fighter.
The tactical bomber carries up to 12,000 lbs. of external stores and
two 25mm autocannon. It has a combat radius of 300 miles at 740 mph or
600 miles at 450 mph and a ferry range of 2,500 miles. In a game, the
bomber could be a deus ex machina for embattled dogfaces, or a threat
they must stop on the ground before it takes to the skies ...
At routine travel speed, the engines burn 2,400 gallons of jet fuel
per hour. A full load of fuel and 25mm ammunition is $5,920.

Subassemblies: Body +5, three retractable Wheels +2, two high-agility
  Wings +2.
Powertrain: Two 12,000-lb. turbojets; 3,600-kWs lead-acid batteries.
Fuel: 7,200 gallons jet fuel (fire 14).

The vehicle uses the design rules from GURPS Vehicles [2nd edition,
3rd printing, Dec 2004 errata], WWII (only the cruise speed/fuel
consumption rules, not the entire modular system), VXii (the armor
volume, stall speed and ceiling rules), and the text format from
Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: An intercontinental bomber.
