"The area moves with the mage, and centers on his hex." So if the caster
needs to be in the Dome, the collection area is going to at least
partially obscured by the Dome.
Also, what is the difference between unobstructed at 93 million miles
and twilight (which the spell suggests would be ~3% of full draw) at,
say, 1 million miles? My math says 259.47x. That means 1,556.8 FP per
hex per hour, or about 3 every 7 seconds. That's an awful lot.
Dome spell conditions are based on the caster's world of origin per
Kromm, so the interior would always be lit at the intensity of earthly
twilight.
And also, "The reservoir is limited to (Skill x 2) points of power.
Excess power is lost." Intense sunlight would refill the reservoir
faster, but not grant any increase in the largest spell castable or
maintainable.
