This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Large Colonizer Shuttle v1.0 (TL10)
  Copyright 2010 by Onno Meyer

The Colonizer Shuttle uses one obvious violation of physics as we know
it, and some less obvious ones, to allow surface-to-orbit flights on the
scale necessary to settle new, exciting planets.
The Shuttle has an arrowhead spaceframe, 75m long and 15m wide, with
twin thruster units in the roots of the stubby delta wings. She has two
decks, with the cockpit and 700 seats on the upper deck, and an airlock,
the cargo hold, and 300 seats on the lower deck. Narrow aisles make it
difficult to move around after boarding, but then the flight shouldn't
take too long ...

Subassemblies: Body +8, twenty retractable wheels +3.
Powertrain: Four 750,000-lb. super reactionless thrusters; 750-kW RTG;
two 750,000-kW fusion reactors; six 360,000-kWs rechargeable E power
  cells.
Occ: 4 RCS, 1,000 CS. Cargo: 10,000 cf.

Design Notes
Body is 100,000 cf, with very good streamlining and lifting body.
Wheels are 5,000 cf, retract into Body. Structure is medium, standard.
Armor is standard metal. Sealed. Computerized controls with duplicate
maneuver controls. 4,329 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 1,600,000
lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, January 2007 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: A slightly larger evacuation transport ...
