Hi Roger :) That was my understanding as well - plus a few other issues, but I won't go into that. In the end analysis, GURPS 3e was a wee bit better supported than is/was GURPS 4e. I am also well aware that these are difficult times for role playing hobbyists, and that the Golden Era experienced throughout 3e may never be repeated. Ultimately, it is up to the GM to make the game system work for his players, and a good GM can improvise or even create whole hog, those things that he needs not provided by the game system. Before GURPS HIGH TECH first edition came out, I utilized the rules for determining damage ranges for firearms from AFTERMATH. I had also devised a mechanism such that weapons could graze their targets with only 1 point of damage per round. For instance, a fifty caliber round did 1d60 damage (use 1d6-1 and 1d10, where 1d6-1 was multiplied by 10 and added to 1d10 giving a range between 1 to 60). Then, when GURPS HIGH TECH came out, I just used that instead. Now when I want to use something - I'll either use GURPS VEHICLES to create damage ranges for weapons, or I'll use GUNS GUNS GUNS. So - my advice is simply to use what ever makes you happy (and by you, I mean the general reader, as I know that YOU Roger, already go that route! <g>) _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
