Biplane Turbojet Fighter v1.0 (TL6)

This strange plane could appear in pulp era stories, where Heroes and
Archvillains can come up with starkly amazing inventions, and on worlds
where historical inventions came in a slightly different sequence.
The fighter has a sleek metal airframe with two pairs of rear-mounted
wings and small canards in front. The spartan cockpit is placed between
the twin cannon in the nose and the primary fuel tank in the rear. The
two turbojets are mounted in pods on the upper wings, inconvenient for
maintenance but clear from foreign object damage on frontier airfields.
The turbojets burn 300 gallons of jet fuel per hour at routine speed.
A full load of fuel and ammunition is $960.

Powertrain: Two 1,500-lb. turbojets; 200-kWs lead-acid battery.
Fuel: 600 gallons jet fuel (fire on 14).

Body is 120 cf, with good streamlining. Wheels are 6 cf, retract into
Body. Wings are 20 cf each. Pods are 20 cf each. Structure is medium,
expensive. Armor is expensive metal. Sealed. Mechanical controls. 6.43
cf of empty space in the body, 1.43 cf in each wing and 0.81 cf in each
pod. 400 rounds of 30mm SAPHE in the body. Empty weight is 7,500 lbs.

The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
