This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Interstellar Freighter, Vehicles Version v1.0 (TL11)
Copyright 2010 by Onno Meyer
The Interstellar Freighter carries containerized cargo between major
industrialized planets. Her usual voyages are routine, with port times
of mere hours followed by boring days or weeks in hyperspace.
The starship has two decks. The lower deck with the engine rooms and
cargo holds is 20' high, while the upper deck with the bridge, offices,
and quarters averages 10' height. She has tractor beams to assist with
cargo handling in orbit, but usually she will make a surface landing.
It takes 13 hours to recharge the power cells for a hyperspace entry.
Subassemblies: Body +9.
Powertrain: Two 6,000,000-lb. vectored super reactionless thrusters;
6,000-ton hyperdrive; two 400,000-kW fusion reactors;
2,160,000,000-kWs rechargeable power cell.

Design Notes
Body is 300,000 cf, with heavy compartmentalization, underbelly skids,
very good streamlining and lifting body. Structure is extra-heavy,
standard. Armor is standard metal. Sealed. Computerized controls with
duplicate maneuver controls. 7,432.8 cf of empty space. Empty weight is
2,480,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
