This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Interstellar Racing Yacht, Vehicles Version v1.0 (TL11)
Copyright 2010 by Onno Meyer
This small starship was built for speed at any cost. She is equally at
home in an atmosphere, in vacuum, and in hyperspace.
The Interstellar Racing Yacht has a needle-shaped hull with two engine
pods. Each pod is a unit with a sublight thruster, a fusion reactor, and
a hyperdrive. The main hull contains the power cells, the avionics, and
the crew quarters. She has gel-filled acceleration couches for sublight
maneuvers and zero-gravity cabin fittings for hyperspace -- a grav unit
would have been too heavy.
It takes 3.3 hours to recharge the power cells for a hyperspace entry.
Subassemblies: Body +5, two Pods +4.
Powertrain: Two 300,000-lb. vectored super reactionless thrusters; two
225-ton hyperdrives; two 25,000-kW fusion reactors; 162,000,000-kWs
rechargeable power cell.

air-search radars; two 300-lightsecond FTL radars; two 25-mile PESAs;
500-mile radscanner; two x200 astronomical LLTVs; flight data recorder;

navigation systems; four C6 compact, hardened minicomputers; terminal;

Design Notes
Finely made. Body is 1,250 cf, with underbelly skids, lifting body and
radical streamlining. Pods are 375 cf each. Structure is medium,
expensive. Armor is expensive composite. Sealed. Computerized controls.
159.2 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 58,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
Interstellar Racing Yacht, Spaceships Version v1.0 (TL11^)
Design 2010 by Kenneth Peters, color text 2010 by Onno Meyer
This small starship was built for speed at any cost. She is equally at
home in an atmosphere, in vacuum, and in hyperspace.
The Interstellar Racing Yacht has a needle-shaped hull with two engine
pods. Each pod mounts both sublight thrusters and hyperdrives. The main
hull contains the reactor, the avionics, and the crew quarters. She has
compensators for sublight maneuvers and zero-gravity cabin fittings for
hyperspace -- not a pound was wasted on luxuries like grav units.
It has a streamlined 30-ton (SM +5) hull about 60 feet long.
Systems Table
Front Hull System
[1] Nanocomposite Armor (dDR 5).
[2] Control Room (C7 computer, comm/sensor 5, and one control
station).
[3-5] One SM+6 Habitat (cabin).
[6, core] Fusion Power Plant (two Power Points each).
Central Hull System
[1-6!] Stardrives (FTL-1 each).
[core] Fusion Power Plant (two Power Points).
Rear Hull System
[1-6!] Standard Reactionless Engines (1G acceleration each).
[core] Fusion Power Plant (two Power Points).
It has the gravitic compensator feature.
