This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

IISS High Pressure Cutter v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL12)
  Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer

  The High Pressure Cutter was designed to Scout Service specifications
for operations deep within the atmosphere of a gas giant. The cutter is
rated for 1,000 atmospheres pressure, and it should be able to survive
twice as much before it gets crushed.
  The HPC has a cockpit with four workstations, and a payload bay with
sixteen folding seats along the side. The decks are reinforced to hold
High Pressure Work Suits, which are 1.2 tons each, and the airlock is
large enough for seven of these oversized suits at a time.
  There are four separate engine rooms, with redundant fusion reactors,
contragrav generators, and thrusters. Internal bulkheads help to limit
minor penetrations to a single compartment.

Subassemblies: Body +7.
Powertrain: Four 640-ton vectored super reactionless thrusters; four
  6,400-ton ruggedized contragrav generators; four 80,000-kW ruggedized
  fusion reactors; twelve 540,000-kWs rechargeable E power cells.
Occ: 4 bridge RCS, 16 folding CS. Cargo: 1,488 cf.

extreme-range laser communicator; very-long-range meson communicator;
two 7,000-mile AESAs; two 2,000-mile PESAs; 2,000-mile radscanner;
flight data recorder; two sets of precision navigation instruments; two
IFF; four inertial navigation systems; four terrain-following radars;
two radar/laser detectors; three C8 hardened microframes; four
terminals; full fire suppression system; 10-man airlock; three 20-man
total life support systems; grav unit. External: Radiation shielding.

Design Notes
  Body is 25,000 cf, with very good streamlining, lifting body, and
underbelly skids. Structure is extra-heavy, advanced, with total
compartmentalization. Armor is advanced metal. Self-sealing.
Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver controls. 78 cf of empty
space. Empty weight is 2,500,000 lbs.
  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi, VXii (including the armor volume
rule), and GURPS Traveller with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: The work suit.
