This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Instellarms Model 12 Submersible ATV v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL6)
  Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer

The Model 12 ATV is deployed by the Planetary Defense Forces of many
underdeveloped worlds. The ATV makes up for the lack of modern stealth
systems with the ability to dive. When enemy starships control the low
orbit, water is one of the best hiding places.
The All-Terrain Vehicle has an angular hull with a hydraulic ramp in
front. It can carry 18 passengers and five tons of cargo, or perhaps a
small air/raft or range truck. The crew consists of a driver/helmsman
and an engineer, who also handles the dive controls.
The Submersible ATV has an operational depth of just 72', and a crush
depth of roughly twice that. In clear water, it may be visible from the
air, but most rivers contain enough sediment to hide the ATV.
The air lasts for six hours with a full complement, and the batteries
last for six hours at three knots, or one hour at six knots. The diesel
engine burns 11.25 gallons per hour at normal speed. A tank of fuel is
$240.

Subassemblies: Body +5, two Tracks +4.
Powertrain: 240-kW tracked drivetrain; 240-kW screw propeller; 250-kW HP

searchlights; set of navigation instruments; radar detector; two chaff
dischargers; two smoke dischargers; ST 300 winch; cargo ramp; 1-man
airlock; 20x6 man-hour limited life support system. External: Hitch.

Design Notes
Body is 2,000 cf. Tracks are 1,500 cf. Structure is medium, standard,
submersible. Armor is standard metal. 5.4 cf of empty space. Empty
weight is 100,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
and massive motive subassembly rules) with the text format from Vehicles
Lite. The Traveller rules affect the background and design choices, but
not the technology of this vehicle.

Next Week: A moon rover at the same TL.
