This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Dragon Republic Type 10 Light Utility Dropship v1.0 (TL9)
  Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer

The Type 10 is carried by many Republican starships. The Dropship can
transport 18 passengers and 1.2 tons of cargo down to the surface of an
earthlike world, and back into orbit.
The Dropship has a cylindrical hull with small delta wings. Two large
hatches allow easy access to the passenger cabin, where cargo is stowed
in the aisle between the seats. There is a hardpoint for equipment pods
under the fuselage, and two small wing hardpoints for ECM or defensive
missiles. The Type 10 has minimal stealth and naval avionics -- enough
to link into the task force net and to designate targets, if required.
Like her Union counterpart, the Gagarin class, the Type 10 Dropship
has vectored thrust for vertical takeoff and landing. The hot exhaust
will damage the landing zone, so proper runways are preferable.
The fusion rockets use 2,000 gallons of reaction mass per hour.

Subassemblies: Body +5, two Wings +2, six retractable Wheels +1.
Powertrain: Two vectored 50,000-lb. fusion rockets; 40-kW super MHD
fusion reactor; 270,000-kWs rechargeable power cell.
Fuel: 1,600 gallons water.

Body is 1,840 cf, with superior streamlining. Wings are 80 cf. Wheels
are 92 cf, retract into body. Structure is medium, advanced. Improved
suspension and brakes. Armor is advanced composite. Sealed. Ultra-light,
self-sealing tanks. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver
controls. 264.33 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 20,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, December '09 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: A close support variant.
