Dragon Republic Type 16 Medium Assault Dropship v1.0 (TL9) Copyright 2011 by Onno Meyer When an outpost on a remote planet falls silent, the Dragon Republic might send a small starship with a pair of Type 16 Dropships to take a look. The Type 16 carries one 15-ton AFV from orbit to the surface and back into orbit, and she is armed for self-defense. The Type 16 has a blended wing body -- the body provides most of the lift, and the wings provide agility at medium and high speeds. Landing and takeoff uses vectored thrust, which tends to slag the landing zone. The Dropship is armed with four lasers in the hull and two weapon bays in the wings. The payload bay is roughly 8.8 m by 2.5 m by 2 m, with a hydraulic ramp in the rear. The Dropship has no troop seats, but life support is provided for eight passengers.
