Exploration Cruiser Mk.IX v1.0 (TL16)

  This large starship is a scout, a research base, and an ambassador for 
an entire interstellar civilization. She is almost 500 m long, with room 
for a thousand people and dozens of smaller ships.
  The Mk.IX combines a warp drive for insystem and local mobility and a 
jump drive for longer distances. Her endurance is almost unlimited, and 
with enough time, the Exploration Cruiser could even build a replica of
herself. The main reasons to return to base from time to time are shore 
leave and crew rotations.
  The Exploration Cruiser has twelve decks, plus the open promenade deck 
under the force screen bubble. The habitat decks are a mix of individual 
cabins and larger suites, of cafes, bars, and restaurants, of conference 
rooms and libraries. Her hangar deck is 30 m high, with six large docks, 
cargo holds, workshops and nano-factories. The lower decks hold engines 
and power plants, force screen generators and energy banks, maintenance 
workshops and yet more storage compartments.

  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third 
printing, Dec. 2009 errata], VXi (including the structural volume rule), 
VXii (including the armor volume rule), and UTT with the text format 
from Vehicles Lite. The GM should probably set a FTL factor well over 
0.2, perhaps in the five figures for intergalactic flights.
