This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Bulk Transport Mk.V v1.0 (TL12)
  Copyright 2012 by Onno Meyer

The Bulk Transport hauls large loads over interstellar distances. She
has room for 12,000 tons of cargo and 4,000 people, both passengers and
crew.
The starship is almost 150 m long, with six main decks, the bridge on
top, and a shuttle deck below. Over the years, several cargo holds have
been converted into additional cabins. The Mark V has a reinforced hull,
force screens, and sixteen particle beams, but her best defense is the
hyperdrive. The Bulk Transport will stay in deep space, where she can
hyper out on short notice. Her efficient reaction drive has a delta-V
of 13,000 kps.
The conversion drives use 14.4 tons of mass per hour, usually water.
It takes 20 hours to recharge the the power cell for one hyperspace
entry.

Subassemblies: Body +12.
Powertrain: Two 60,000,000-lb. partial conversion drives; 60,000-ton
hyperdrive; four 500,000-kW fusion reactors; 24,300,000,000-kWs
  rechargeable power cell.

Design Notes
Cheaply made (to represent age). Body is 4,000,000 cf, with heavy
compartmentalization. Structure is extra-heavy, very cheap. Armor is
cheap metal. Sealed. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver
controls. 205,217 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 30,000,000 lbs.

The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata], VXi, and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: A TL13 container ship.
