That seems to be a 'cheap' insertion method compared to an Aliens-style dropship. So does it mean the aliens came with a very low payload, and have to save every pound? The poor alien invaders might have TL10 or TL11, but they may still get swamped by lots and lots of TL7-8 defenders. Or do they have so many troops that they can't carry proper dropships for all of them? AFAIK there are about 20,000 AMRAAMs. Now imagine two infantry divisions in individual suits.
