Today I noticed that I'm still getting traffic looking for gurpsnet stuff at http://www.jhcloos.com/~ftp/GURPSnet/, so I added a 301 redirect to http://www.gurpsnet.org/Archive/. (The URIs I get match up with the directory structure under Archive, not under /.)
I cannot remember whether I had hosted a mirror, or whether this is due to historical accident. (Some here may remember when, before Apache got even IP-based virtual hosts, we at IO emulated virtual hosts by pointing customers' sites at www.io.com and telling them to use /~username URIs thereunder. Since we posted the web logs for customers under www.io.com, spiders ended up seeing the full tree under each domain, and many sites ended up using wrong URIs in links.) OTOH, it is possible that I hosted a mirror back in the '90s, but I do not see it on what I was able to recover of that server.... Either way, there may be a bump in traffic due to the redirect, including a possible bump in 404s. -JimC -- James Cloos <[email protected]> OpenPGP: 1024D/ED7DAEA6 _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
