This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml Onno Meyer, 2013-08-19
Deep Space Prospecting Craft v1.0 (TL9) Copyright 2013 by Onno Meyer This spacecraft was designed for a setting where interplanetary travel is starting to become routine. The Deep Space Prospecting Craft could be used by freelancers or ruthless corporations -- most government agencies perfer larger craft with more redundancy. The cabin has room for two or three people. Two can go into cryosleep for long flights, one should remain awake to handle routine maintenance and emergencies. The small airlock, the hydroponics, and the equipment lockers are in the back of the cabin. Missions for the DSPC include the survey of near-Earth asteroids for mining or comets for terraforming projects. If Earth-based sensors find an anomaly in space, a prospector team might be in the best position to make the rendezvous. The fusion rocket uses 40 gallons of reaction mass per hour. Subassemblies: Body +4. Powertrain: 2,000-lb. vectored fusion rocket; 36-kW RTG; 17,500-kWs advanced batteries. Fuel: 1,200 gallons water. Occ: 2 bridge NCS, 2 bunks. Cargo: 60 cf.
