Not really. 

* Do they make a neat game setting? I'm stretching this point at times,
  when I calculate stats for space freighters just to estimate how many
  supplies a frontier planet gets, or what the shipping costs are ...

* Are there rules to support it? Vehicles has subs, and surface ships, 
  but what about semi-subs? A surface ship with oversized trim tanks?
  Trim tanks are below the resolution of the rules. Or a sub without 
  air-independent drives and life support?

* Generally speaking, the old Vehicles doesn't scale well for big ships.

Would you play a campaign around the crew of such a ship or have the 
players encounter it during an adventure?
