Its a common ploy in Role Play Gaming, to make things happen that logically should not have happened, but .. the person running the same did not see or did not want to happen. Like their favorite Non Player Character dying, it should not have happened, there for it did not happen and I don't care what you the players thing, he was not killed, just wounded. Which is not to say that you can't go inventing science--that is, after all, the idea; but why do it if you don't have to?
