This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Orbital Tank Farm v1.0 (TL9)
  Copyright 2013 by Onno Meyer

This station was designed for a setting where interplanetary travel is
starting to become routine. The Tank Farm is probably close to Earth, at
a Lagrange point or in orbit, built with asteroid metals and filled with
volatiles and fuel from the belt.
The Orbital Tank Farm consists of an open framework with tanks and two
pressurized control modules. There are a dozen tanks with water (both as
reaction mass and for life support), chemical rocket fuel, hydrogen, and
oxygen.
Life on an Orbital Tank Farm is usually dull. The crew comes over from
a nearby habitat station, they just work on the 'supply dump' for a week
or two. Even in an emergency, the main role of the Tank Farm will be to
refuel the interplanetary craft which take the spotlight.
The fusion rockets use 4,000 gallons of reaction mass per hour.

Subassemblies: Body +12, two Superstructures +8.
Powertrain: Ten 20,000-lb. vectored fusion rockets; two 10,000-kW fusion
  reactors; two 24,000,000-kWs advanced batteries.
Fuel: 12,000,000 gallons hydrogen (fire on 11); 2,000,000 gallons
  kerosene-oxygen fuel (fire on 11); 2,000,000 gallons metal/LOX fuel
(fire on 11); 3,000,000 gallons oxygen (fire on 11); 12,000,000
  gallons water.
Occ: 200 bridge NCS, 50 bunks. Cargo: 60,000 cf.

Equipment:
Body: 18 refueling drogues. Superstructures: Extreme-range radios; two
x200 astronomical LLTVs; two advanced radiation sensors; two sets of
precision navigation instruments; two transponders; two inertial
navigation systems; C6 hardened mainframes; 100 terminals; ten full fire

100-man full life systems.

Statistics
Size: 100'x100'x600' Payload: 90,000 tons Lwt.: 100,000 tons
Volume: 5,000,000 cf Maint.: 65 man-hours Price: $182,536,000

HT: 5. HPs: 255,000 Body, 22,500 each Superstructure

sAccel: 0.001 G sMR: 0.001 Delta-V: 94 mps.

Design Notes
Body is 4,800,000 cf. Superstructures are 100,000 cf each. Structure
is medium, cheap. Body armor is cheap, open-frame metal. Superstructure
armor is cheap metal. Superstructures are sealed. Computerized controls.
144,670 cf of empty space in the Body, 48,315.5 cf in each
Superstructure. Empty weight is 20,000,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule)
with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: An interplanetary parcel service.
