Roxolans(Teddy-bears, ~TL4 + star-drive and space drive(inertia-less?))
They have gunpowder and can smelt iron & steel, use chamber pots and hope
to find a breathable atmosphere before they run out of air.

Humans(2039 TL 8-9, slow ships to mars):
invaders are first spotted by the third ship to mars(4 months into a 9.5
month trip)

The Roxolans are out for conquest and expect an easy time of it because
they do not sense any hyperspace waves, indicating that the locals have not
discovered hyper-drive and therefore must be primitive(TL0-2).
