This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml Onno Meyer, 2014-09-08
Research Ship Mk.IV (Baseline Version) v1.0 (TL11) Copyright 2014 by Onno Meyer The Research Ship carries a group of scientists to distant worlds. Her crew and the laboratory can be tailored to the mission, from geophysical surveys to xenoarchaeological digs. The flight deck has seats for a pilot, a navigator, an engineer, and a sensor operator. A corridor leads aft to the cabins and the small galley in the rear. The cargo hold and the airlock are on the port side of the corridor, the lab is on starboard. The quad sublight thrusters and the hyperdrive are mounted under the main deck. It takes 42 hours to recharge the power cell for one hyperspace entry. Subassemblies: Body +7, four retractable Skids +3. Powertrain: Four 200,000-lb. vectored super reactionless thrusters; 2,000-ton hyperdrive; two 24,000-kW fusion reactors; 720,000,000-kWs rechargeable power cell. Occ: 4 bridge RCS, 2 single-occupancy cabins, 8 double-occupancy cabins. Cargo: 820 cf. Skids are 1,000 cf, retract into Body. Structure is medium, standard. Armor is expensive composite. Sealed. Computerized controls with duplicate maneuver controls. 2,977.62 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 180,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, July 2010 errata], Vxi, and VXii (including the armor volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. Next Week: A more cramped ship with the same science facilities. _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
