* Pachekki can only live on a narrow range of habitable worlds. That
could lead to heavy
immigration on those worlds, no matter who lived their first. By
contrast, unsuitable worlds
are given away with hardly a thought. At sufficient tech levels,
they might resettle other
species to suit their needs.

Just went and read it - my presumption is that, what with one thing and
another, in this alternate Timeline, the Pachekki discovered
interstellar technology first and a long time before anyone else.
So other races are venturing forth into a big Pachekki zone.
They'll have grabbed every Pachekki friendly world around, and will have
recently been taught the fun of raiders and pirates. Other less friendly
and communal races have been discovering interstellar technology and
running loose like crazy people.
The Pachekki are born communists, so individualism and societies that
are less communally oriented will be alien to them.
The Pachekki are good engineers both in terms of technology and
bio-technology - so every place that has useful materials or is a good
base for "keeping the Peace" will have a big Pachekki envirodome or
other arcology tuned to the comfort of the Pachekki.
I can see cloning. I think I'll leave the idea of genetically altered
Demi-Pachekki alone until it serves a function in the story.
Thank you.
