It accelerates at much less than 1 G at first. 400 lbs. lift, 380 lbs.
loaded weight, up with a gentle shove of 1.05 G. Even at burnout the
accel is below 1 G. What this needs is a solid fuel rocket with variable
thrust over the burn time. Unfortunately that isn't in the RAW, and
following the rules is very much the point in this vehicle.
That doesn't answer questions of stability and burned feet ...

You got me laughing so much I didn't even check my own physics before
posting that last message. 20 seconds at 1G will not get you 600 feet up.
Closer to 3 thousand feet (Vf = Vi + a * t, at a constant accel Distance
= (Vi + Vf)/2*t).
That is a mighty tall castle wall!
