This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Steam Sloop v1.0 (TL5)
Copyright 2015 by Onno Meyer
Paddle wheels and early steam engines are unsuitable for ships of the
line, but they are useful for naval auxiliaries. The paddle steamer can
tow sailing battleships, carry dispatches, or raid the enemy commerce.
To make the best possible use of her limited deck space, she mounts a
pair of 68-pounders forward and four 32-pounders aft. Against old style
ships of the line, she would use her maneuver advantage to stay at long
range and hope for a lucky hit.
The steamer could appear in historical settings in the Regency period
or the early Victorian era, or she could be built by a genius gadgeteer
a few years earlier.
The engine burns 1.5 tons of coal per hour. A full load of coal, food,
and ammunition is $80,880.
