Naasirka Bularian Queen III Airship v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL6) Copyright 2015 by Onno Meyer The Bularian Queen provides mail and passenger services for an island chain on Bularia (0430 Darrian subsector). Plans to replace her with an imported contragrav ferry have been debated for decades. Meanwhile, the old airship carries on. The gondola has a large passenger cabin with panorama windows on both sides. The furniture is lightweight but elegant, polished aluminium and white leather. The original design called for a galley, but when the engines turned out overweight this was removed to preserve the cargo capacity. The engines burn 100 gallons of aviation gas per hour. A full load of fuel is $1,000. Subassemblies: Body +6, two Pods +2, Gasbag +10. Powertrain: Two 1,000-kW aerial propellers; 740,000 cf hydrogen lifting gas; two 1,000-kW HP gas engines; 2,160-kWs lead-acid battery. Fuel: 2,500 gallons aviation gas (fire on 16). Gasbag is 740,000 cf. Structure is extra-light, expensive. Body and Pod armor is expensive metal, Gasbag armor is non-rigid. Ultralight tanks. Mechanical controls. 6,962 cf of empty space in the Body and 0.325 cf in each Pod. Empty weight is 24,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, July 2010 errata], VXi, and VXii (including the armor volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules affect the background and design choices, but not the technology of this vehicle.
