Hi, There is one more thing to think about. The announced different GetMap url is often wrong in the real life and the GetCapabilities base url is the one that works. For example copying Mapserver mapfiles between test server and production server can easily lead to this situation. Therefore at least OpenJUMP and QGis, in case of meeting a different OnlineResource, are showing first a message and ask which url user wants to use for GetMaps, the same as used for GetCapabilities or the one that comes with the capabilities.

Have you tried with capabilities_1_1_1.xml capabilities_1_1_0.xml or capabilities_1_1_1.xml capabilities_1_1_0.xml? It is also possible that gvSIG does not read the GetCapabilities which tells to use another URL for GetMaps OnlineResource xlink:href="http://imsref.cr.usgs.gov:80/wmsconnector/com.esri.wms.Esrimap/USGS_EDC_LandCover_NLCD2001?" GetMaps does work with the URL above, but so does GetCapabilities as well so you can try to give it for gvSIG Mobile. This is another WMS service to try http://osm.omniscale.net/proxy/service? Data are just coastlines outside Germany but the service is up and worked fine a minute ago while I tried it. -Jukka Rahkonen- ________________________________ Lähettäjä: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Puolesta Michael Denslow Lähetetty: 11. marraskuuta 2010 12:52 Vastaanottaja: Users and Developers mailing list Aihe: Re: [Gvsig_english] WMS layer in gvSIG mini for Android Thanks for your help! I am trying to work with a different server to see if I can get this figured this out. When I enter: http://imsref.cr.usgs.gov/WMS_Capabilities/USGS_EDC_LandCover_NLCD2001/capabilities_1_3_0.xml I get a list of layers to add. Then I select a layer and select 'Add selected layers.' I get the message 'The layer is not supported.' Can someone possibly provide me with a URL that does work for them so that I can make sure that I problem is not on my end? Can your phones browser access the page? Logcat throws an IOException saying that their is no route to host when I use that URL in gvSIG. I have successfully loaded a layer from a WMS server using gvSIG, so I know that it is possible. -- <http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/820/borsightlogo.png> Austyn Mahoney Software Developer Borsight, Inc. I tried again with a stronger 3G signal and with wireless internet as well. I still get the same error. I am however able to change the base maps in the Tiled map service area so I think that my internet connection is on. Do you have any other suggestions?
