Hi Wolfgang, No, there is not any compilation performed in the installation process. We have been already thinking about a solution like the one you propose, to be able to install new plugins into a user home folder. But this needs some changes into the gvSIG internals, and it has also some subtle problems that may make it harder to be solved. Would you please add a feature request about the problem in the gvSIG OSOR tracker [1]? I don't think it will be solved for the 1.x version, unless there is any volunteer, but maybe we are able to tackle it for a post 2.0 version.
