[GW-Booksense] Is there a standby mode for the recorder?

Hey all. I'd like to figure out what the different mic sensitivity  
levels do for a pair of stereo mics I have hooked up to the mic jack  
that are using plug-in power. Is there a standby mode for the  
recorder? In other words, press once and it doesn't actually start the  
recorder but it allows you to monitor and listen to what it will sound  
like? I've been holding it down for two seconds and I'm wondering if I  
can just press it once to monitor sound without recording. Thanks.
