If you have the AC power charging your battery and you press the pound
key for 2 seconds, you will hear that the battery is charging. If
however there is no power going into the BookSense, then you will hear a
number from 1 to 10 where 1 is very low and 10 is fully charged.

plugged in all night and when I go to system status it says battery
level 5, doesn't say it is on ac or anything. Also, my firmware says
August 6 build, so wasn't sure if the one on your page was a later build
or not.
