Just so everyone is on the same page. All daisy books must, must, must
be self-contained in their own folder for them to work properly. This
includes, but is not limited to Bookshare books, NFB Newsline books, NLS
Books, and the up-coming RFB&D Books.
The folders called bookshare, newsline, and nls inside the daisy folder
are reminder folders that these kinds of books go in them, but again,
each book must be in its own folder. What I did for the newsline papers
I read is to create a subfolder for each paper. I.E. New York Times,
Indianapolis Star, ETC. And to read the paper, i drop the 4 files of
each paper into their own folder.
Hope this helps.

I believe you have to create a subfolder under the "newsline" folder into
which you would then copy the four files which comprise the specific issue
of any newspaper. For example, I receive both the Washington Post and the
New York Times via email from the NFB newsline service. Under "daisy /
newsline", I've made subfolders for "ny times" and "Washington post", which
folders, in turn, contain folders numbered "01" through "31". So, again by
way of example, all attachments to today's email transmitting the Washington
Post are copied to:
daisy\newsline\washington post\13\
This should work for you.

Hi,
If I put the newspaper from bookshare into my bookshare folder, it works,
but if I put the same
content into the newsline folder, it is not seen by the BookSense and does
not play.

Message The Newsline folder in the Daisy folder is put there especially to

used for NFB Newsline materials. However, that being said, there is no hard
and
fast rule as to where you put your material, as long as it is in one of
the
main folder types that are required for each type of material; documents,
daisy& other audio media. I do not like the way the newspapers are read
as
daisy files, so I simply copy the .XML files each day into the document
folder
and read them as plain text documents. Rod ----- Original Message -----

AM Subject: [GW-Booksense] Newsline folder use? Hello all, I
usually
use another device to access newspapers, but have a question. I put the
newsline papers in the Bookshare foler to play them. Therefore, what is
the
newsline option for? Thanks. Amy
