I sent this around ten hours ago and it came back to me from the list, but I
haven't seen a response either positive or negative, so I'm sending it again in
the hopes that, if noone else saw it, they might this time.

I really like this thing a lot, but I've discovered a problem with my unit, and
I'd be interested if anyone else has noticed it or would be willing to do some
testing to confirm that it is a bug, or disconfirm it, which would mean that
something is flaky with my particular unit.

I've got the Book Sense standard model, and I've discovered that my equalizer
is not working with files I've ripped in aac with my Winamp that have the m4a
file extension. I've checked around a dozen files so far and when I hit the 7
key while listening
to them, there is no change. I can definitely hear changes when I go from one
setting to another when playing mp3 files, so it's not my hearing. Also, while
I don't have very many wma files, the two I've listened to so far do not change
equalizer settings
either when I hit the 7 key while playing them.

Has anyone else noticed this, or would anyone be willing to do some testing of
these formats to see if it's just something goofy with my standard model unit
or a bug?

I would have thought that someone else would have mentioned this by now if it
was a general problem, but I don't know how many people use the equalizer much.
I do use it, so I hope this can be fixed..

Of course, it also may be true that this was covered before I joined the list
about three weeks ago. If that is the case, apologies to all.

Thanks a lot.

Evan
