I routinely plug in my booksense when the battery is at 6 or 7, sometimes even 8 to keep it from running down when I am somewhere. I do this especially if I know I'm going somewhere for awhile where I won't be able to charge and will want to use it a lot. It doesn't seem to have any negative effects on the booksense. Also, it doesn't seem to hurt to leave it plugged in after the battery has charged. The booksense completes its charge then runs off of AC power without overcharging the battery. Yes, the battery level does go quickly from 10 to 9, but it remains on 7, 8, or 9 for a long period of time. I have noticed this pattern from other products with similar battery types so it doesn't concern me. I have turned the booksense off and noticed the charge increase by a level when I turn it back on. But that doesn't concern me either. I figure when I turned it off maybe it was right on the border between say, 7 and 8 which might account for the higher reading when I turn it back on. Also keep in mind that the booksense receives charge when it is plugged into your computer, so plugging it in to the pc to transfer a file will increase the battery level a little bit, or a lot, depending on how long it is plugged in. Personally, I have had very positive experiences regarding the booksense battery and I think it works very well. I charge it often by choice but Iwouldn't need to if Ididn't want to. Original message:
HI folks let's say that I went to school and when I got home my
BookSense was at level 7 and I know that I would be leaving again in a
short time and charged it again. Would this damage the battery?
Another sinario is let's say I finish charging the BookSense and did
not disconnect it from the a.c. because I don't want to waste the
battery. Would this harm the BookSense? Next how much battery time do
you get from level 10 to level 9. Sometimes I get 10 minutes, and at
other times 20. Lastly have you ever checked the BookSense battery
level, turned off the unit, and twhen you turned it back on the level
increased by one notch. For example you check the battery and it's at
level 5, then you turn it off. When you turn it on the level is at 6.
Any light you can shed on these questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
