None of the scenarios you mentioned will damage your battery. I have also noticed the increase in battery strength after powering the BookSense down and then powering it up again.

HI folks let's say that I went to school and when I got home my
BookSense was at level 7 and I know that I would be leaving again in a
short time and charged it again. Would this damage the battery?
Another sinario is let's say I finish charging the BookSense and did
not disconnect it from the a.c. because I don't want to waste the
battery. Would this harm the BookSense? Next how much battery time do
you get from level 10 to level 9. Sometimes I get 10 minutes, and at
other times 20. Lastly have you ever checked the BookSense battery
level, turned off the unit, and twhen you turned it back on the level
increased by one notch. For example you check the battery and it's at
level 5, then you turn it off. When you turn it on the level is at 6.
Any light you can shed on these questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Turn right, then go straight!

        Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.

13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
