I'm not sure how well this model would work with a portable book/media
player like the Booksense. It works with Window Eyes and other screen
readers since there are many applications that people use in their
daily lives that they need to customize. However, the Booksense is in
a much more narrow field of use, being a book/media player. I'm not
meaning to sound negative here, since it is a great idea. But I'm not
sure if the Booksense or another media playing device is the right
arena for script writing for applications and such. If we were coming
at this from the iPhone perspective, of having a phone and extending
it to do other things, then that might be different. But turning a
portable device into something else, I'm not sure how well that would
work. Also, the more applications you add, the shorter the battery
life gets, which is another concern with devices such as this. Yes,
the iPhone is great, but having talked with iPhone owners of their
average battery life and how often they have to charge their units, as
in every night, I'm not sure I'd want that in a device like the
Booksense.

Interesting idea though. If GW did open up the Booksense for this kind
of user improvements, then they would be the first company to do so in
the short history of this kind of device.
