Hello. The switch is to lock the electric prongs in place since they are
replaceable by other prongs for other countries. If the switch is
closest to the prongs, it is locked and you are good to go. If you push
the switch down and away from the prongs, it unlocks them and you can
then pull the prongs up and off of the AC adapter.
