I would like to see an adjustment for base and treble for the BS.

If there's an issue with the BS quality of mp3 playback, then that may be
why I don't notice a difference in speaker quality, as that's what I'm
always listening to, either music or audio book, is mp3 format.

I totally agree with the odd sound of music, and none of the choices of
equalizer setting seeming to improve things. I prefer the streams ability
to adjust base and trebble yourself.

Yes!

Then your talking about the TTS and not the spekers.

Totally on par with you there.

I cannot use the BS TTS for long term reading.
Nor do I use it for music playback given the low quality playback EQ and
overall quallity of the MP3 Koddex and flak rliability.!
I take the stream with me on business base on the TTS alone.

I cannot trust the BS for crutial work but, it is the unit of choice for me
for audio book and audible playback.

I found that the stream sounds better when it comes to playing nls books.
But the booksense is louder.

Hey Chip you wrote:
I do not find any difference in the sound quality of the speakers.

Wo dude then you must have some hearing los cuz the quality of the
booksense
speakers far out ways that of the Stream!
I have both and have compared each side by side.

You can take this as gospel since I have not been overly complimentry of
the
BookSense XT firmware to date.

I have no issues pointing out bugs on either platform but, I try to make
sure that my gripes are real and not tinged with bias!

Food for thought eh?

KG.

I have owned a stream ever since it was released, and my wife recently
gifted me with a booksense xt.

I absolutely like the stream better in every way; it's not a popular
opinion
on this list I know.

I do not find any difference in the sound quality of the speakers. I
can't
really find any use for the built-in memory of the xt, and see my other
post
recently in a separate thread on all the issues I've had with the
bluetooth.

the only reason I could think of to purchase the booksense and put up with it's numerous issues would be if you had to listen to files which were the
copy-protected form of wma, which the stream won't play.

I put them both in carrying cases on a belt-clip, so the slightly smaller
size of the booksense is no advantage to me, and ends up making it harder
to
always find and press the correct key.

the radio does not work when you're using bluetooth, something I forgot to
mention in my bluetooth post; actually, it doesn't work when you're using
the speaker unless you go plug in headphones.

hth,

Chip

Subject: [GW-Booksense] Booksense and the VR Stream

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone had any objective opion on the booksense
compared
to the VR Stream. I have a stream right now, but there are some things,
like size and that you can put apple itunes files (?) on the booksense and
have them be usable with the booksense.

Now i am aware that there have been people who have talked about the
battery
life in the booksense is not as good as the VR. However is the speaker
amplifier in the booksense offer louder output in maximum internal speaker
volume due to the 1 watt output , vs the miliwatt output offered by the
victor? is the speaker sound quality better or worse then the victor?

Does the booksense do both RFB and NLS books at the present time? any
performance issues that still linger from from previous concerns that were
addressed on a few of the message boards a little while back?
Basically should i use what i have for the present time and maybe wait
until
things improve a bit further with this device?

Thanks Zah
