I recently used the alarm and had no problems with it. I hit the cancel key to shut it off and only had to hit it once. Make sure the unit is unlocked before doing this or the buttons won't work.
As for the pronunciation, I will deal with that until it can be fixed. I'm no expert but from what I have seen on this list, it sounds like that is a major undertaking. As for the music, anything will sound different in a regular CD player v. something small like the booksense. That's all I will say about that.
