The hard reset is not difficult or painful
at all. The hardest part is removing the case. When you stick a
toothpick into the hole, you just press gently. It sure beats
removing the battery!

Update,
Well, it looks like my booksense and the battery spending a night
apart did the trick. *Smile,* see, I was too tired to deal with it
last night, so I removed the battery and put the booksense and
separate battery inside the pouch. Thinking I'd work on it today.
Well, yippy! Putting the 2 pieces back together just now, seemed to
fix everything. There was a chime sound, then Kate began
speaking. This all signaled a reset of some sort for me, because I
have Paul as my default voice.
Raul, thanks for the directions, I need to jot those down somewhere.
Carly, thanks for the encouragement, one of these days I'll try the
hard reset. *smile*
Thank goodness all is working now!

Hey Traci,
The pin hole reset is really easy. I used a tooth pick, all you
have to do is stick the toothpick in there until you feel it stop,
take it out a second later. Then you can wait probably 45 seconds
or so and you'll here or should hear the BookSense power noise again
and it should turn back on. I was scared of the reset hole because
I'm always afraid I'm gonna blow things up but it was no big deal,
lol. Let me know if this works.

Ok y'all, the booksense turning on by itself the other weekend was
weird enough, but now I'm unable to shut mine off.
I was listening to a nls book last night, and paused it for a
minute. When I resumed, I listened for a minute more, then was
ready to turn off. The booksense would not turn off.
I held down the play button like usual, and nothing happened. Well,
except for silence. When I held it down again, my book started playing.
I decided to exit out of the book, to see if that would help. Nope,
same result. So, I left the daisy folder to see if that would do
anything. Nope.
At this point, sound like I should try the battery removal. Well,
bad news bears, still not working correctly.
My next step will be that paperclip reset. I'll wait for someone to
help out, I'm a chicken!
If that doesn't do it, I may need to contact GW to get a reminder on
how to reinstall the firmware. I remember last time, it was quite
the finger acrobatics. *smile*

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amplified Bible)
11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the
Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to
give you hope in your final outcome.
12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me,
and I will hear and heed you.
13Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital
necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.(A)
14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you
from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places
to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back
to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
