No, the Kindle has a larger display.

Is the Booksense DS maybe going to compete with the Kindle? Is it possible to get Kindle books on the Booksense?

As far as who would purchase the Booksense DS, or how GW Micro is marketing
it, it says the following from the GW Micro web site:

The OLED display is fantastic for the classroom or students who have
learning difficulties. Teachers can use the display to see what the students
are doing,
or to see what the BookSense is saying. Students with learning difficulties will be able to follow along on the screen when reading an accessible DAISY textbook or a document to help reinforce the material. Students will be able to see and hear the textbooks, and they can even adjust the rate of how fast
they read to make reading fun and easy.

The BookSense DS is the choice for educators, students, people with
neuropathy, and any blind or visually impaired person who wants to easily
access music,
books, documents, and more. Weighing in at only 0.14 pounds, the BookSense
DS is easy to carry and easy to handle.

I would also be shocked if the introduction of the Booksense DS has any
effect on the support of the Booksense at all. GW Micro would have to answer
the question on possible upgrades to the Booksense DS.

Maybe I'm missing something? But why would someone who is blind want it?
From the sound of it, you would almost have to have perfect vision to read
the display. Do you have a link for the audio? I must admit to being
curious.

Interesting, I wonder how they did that? The display must be very small!

Hi,

Actually, there was a short audio description given from the show last
week in San Diego telling us that the new unit is a bit smaller than
the current models, even with a display!

I would imagined there will be no effect. It will also probably be
larger in size because of the display.

Hello. How does the new introduction of the BookSense DS effect
current BookSense users? Will it still be supported? Is there a way
to trade in a current BookSense for a BookSense DS? Thanks.

Louis
