I may be wrong, it's my understanding, you can also download the books to
your pc. It could be setup where you have to authorize the booksense to
play Kindle books.

Yes, it uses its own format, whatever that is. I think our only hope is
if they decide it is worthwhile to design a talking kindle. The other
problem is convincing publishers to let their books be t converted to text
to speech. I don't know what determines this, but I've tried several
books on my wife's kindle, and some will let you do that, and some don't.
BTW, the text to speech isn't at all bad. I don't know the exact size of
the screen, but it is about the size of a age of a book, you can change
type size, look up definitions and so forth. All of your searching for
and buying books is done on the kindle via wireless cell phone towers.
You can also play mp3s I think, but I've really never messed with that as
my wife has no interest other than reading. Hope this all makes sense.
