While we're listing our wishes, at the risk of sounding like one of those
broken records myself, I would like that speed increase as well; but I think
that just as much, if not more, I would like an equalizer that supports
other file types than just the mp3 format that the current version of the
music player has. And I would also like to see the pausing between tracks
eliminated.

I'd still like to see the speed increased on the
NLS books. I know it's getting to be like a
broken record, or for people who don't remember
those things, like a skipping CD.--but
still-- I'll keep harping on this until I hear
something one way or the other from GW Micro.

The available memory to programme features into a digital player is finite.
All of us have different items that are important to us as individuals. For
example, for me the ability to support files that are protected by DRM
(digital rights management) would be more beneficial than a variety of
voices. Not that a choice of voices isn't important to me, it is all with
respect to ranking.
On the subject of voices, I would like an option that supports English
other than the U. S. version. It is just one of those pet peeves, similar
to how some of us do not use myself and yourself correctly, I like certain
things pronounced some what differently than what is deemed to be a U. S.
pronunciation. For instance zee versus zed.
Going back to my original statement about memory being finite, I see the
requirement for a firmware utility that allows us to customize how we want
a digital player to operate. This can be done through a series of radio
buttons and check boxes. If I don't switch between voices, then I might
like the option of having a female UK English voice and my second option
might be Canadian French male. Then I can check off the file types I want
supported. This way we all can manage our options so that they fit nicely
into the available space.
Once I have selected all of my options and synthesizers, the utility
generates the firmware file that I can put onto the root of an SD card
then perform the update as per usual.
Should this idea prove to be manageable, all the compensation I require is
that GW Micro continue to provide me with great service. They can claim the
idea as their own.
