Try removing the battery and use a pencil eraser to gently clean the
contacts. Both on the battery and in the unit's compartment.

You know, I've had my BookSense for 4 months and I've only had the
battery
go to 10 once and it was two nights ago when I plugged it into the USB
on my
computer.  I've charged my BS all night plugged into the wall and the
higher
it's ever gotten was 9.  I've had hours and hours of reading without
charging and it's been perfect, but I'm sort of curious about this as
well.
