John,
I have had what seems similar. I have found that shutting down and
restarting Window-Eyes also seems to correct the problem which is
less of a hassle than rebooting. However, you won't hear the
Window-Eyes confirmation dialog, either, so you have to press SPACE
to press the OK button. Then restart with the hot key.
When this happens for me it occurs right from the point Window-Eyes
starts. Restarting Window-Eyes has corrected the problem each time
for me and it does not recur during that session. It also does not
happen every time, either. Maybe this will work for you as well
until the problem can be duplicated and resolved.

Hello,
I did not include in my note that other symptoms were:
If I pressed the start button then I could not navigate through the
menu
at all.
If I pressed the My computer button then I could not navigate in that
list.
Just abut the only thing I could do was <control><alt><delete> to shut
the PC down.
Thanks.
Regards, John.

Subject: FW: Problem with WE7.0 beta 1
I installed 7.0 beta 1 at home successfully last night. No issues
that I
had found so far. The PC is a fully patched Windows XP Pro SP3 PC with
Office 2007 SP3 on it.
So this morning I tried to install it on my work PC.
Due to software install rules at work this is a Windows XP Pro SP2
configuration with IE 6 and Office 2003 on it.
This was a failure, similar to below.
Despite several reboots I could not see the task bar or the system tray
and could not really navigate the desktop icons. In effect WE 7.0
beta 1
could not be used.
I have now reverted to WE 6.1 and await opinions.
Regards, John.

Subject: Problem with WE7.0 beta 1
I downloaded the WE7.0 beta 1 for my registered and installed WE6.1 and
after installing WE7.0 beta 1 nothing seems to work right as far as
being able to navigate and access the desktop, the we control panel or
windows explorer as seems as if something got corrupted when either
downloaded the beta or installing it over WE6.1.
I've uninstalled WE completely and started from a fresh install of
WE6.1
then tried running the WE7.0 beta 1 again which the install goes great;
but, once restart the computer to complete the installation after
logging on to my computer from the windows xp pro log on screen things
install is completed.
I am running a AMd dual core 64 bit 4200 mhz computer with 2gb ram
and a
video 7300LE 256mb video card.
So don't know what to say or do since sounds like everyone else so far
are having great success with the beta; but, can't seem to get it to
work for me on my computer.
So any suggestions from GW staff would greatly be appreciated on what
might be able to do to get WE7.0 beta 1 to work.
Thanks.
