Michael,
Only device drivers can cause your system to generate a blue screen. So
my guess is your sound card driver blew up. Can you make sure you have
the latest version of your sound card driver?

Is this a window eyes problem? My wife said she saw a blue screen
with lots of writing but it shut down before she could read it.
