I just fired up IE, and went to www.fckeditor.net/demo. Once the page
loaded, I pressed C twice until I head, "this is some rich edit", then
press enter to turn off browse mode. That placed my cursor in the editor
so that I could immediately begin editing.
Are you able to do that as well on that demo page? FCKeditor can be
customized quite heavily, so it's possible that your configuration
differs significantly from this public demo.

I'd like to say a couple more things regarding this problem.
First, The Shark presents these elements as "clickable". I can press enter
on them and they activate as expected. I don't mind the "clickable"
information missing from these items, but, isn't there any way to fix this
issue in Window-Eyes browse mode? If not, has anyone used scripting for a
situation like this one?
Second, I apologize for consistently needing to mention The Shark in these
matters. My only point in doing so is not really to say that The Shark does
something you don't, but rather to say that it is job essential stuff and
I'd ultimately like to be able to stick with Window-Eyes for this rather
than being forced back to JAWS in order to get my paying day job done.

Alas, no, things still aren't working correctly over here, though the issues
are once again slightly different this morning. This one's all over the
map... :-(
Here's what's happening now:
1. Log into the knowledge base app as usual.
2. Pull up a solution.
3. Move the virtual pointer down to the text "source". This is the control
in FCKeditor to edit an item's source code.
4. Press insert-plus to move the mouse pointer to the cursor. In this case,
it now says "routed to element" as it should.
5. Press * to left click. Nothing!
It seems the location of the mouse pointer may be uncertain at this point.
Pressing numpad-5 to read the mouse pointer current line seems to indicate
it is in the correct location, but pressing insert-numpad-5 for the current
word shows it located up in the browser's address bar... :-(
All this is very strange. Alas, Window-Eyes remains less than fully usable
on my current job. I hope some of these issues can, somehow, be addressed in
the next version of Window-Eyes when you work on all this dynamic web
stuff... :-( I now must grudgingly return to JAWS for the day so I can get
business done... :-(

FWIW, I've used FCKeditor (as well as Xinha) on a few different pages
now without any problems (aside from the normal ones that one deals with
when using these web based editors).

In 6.1, I was able to manually route the mouse to an "element" and
left click to activate a control in the FCKeditor web editing
software. After upgrading to 7.0 Beta 1 yesterday, I didn't need to
access the source code of a knowledge base article, so I didn't run
into any issues until now... :-(
In 7.0, I am no longer able to route the mouse pointer to an
element. Instead, the pointer is routed to the cursor. A
subsequent left click produces no action at all. Here are the steps
I am following:
1. Open a work related site that uses the FCKeditor program.
2. Locate the rich edit box comprising the article to be modified.
3. Remaining in browse mode, up arrow to "source".
4. Press insert-plus to route the mouse to the cursor. This used to
route to the element.
5. Press * to left click. Nothing...
Alas, this forces me back to JAWS for extensive work in our
knowledge base application... :-(
