Orlando,
Not only do you need to check the Use Speccified Speech Parameters
checkbox, you also need to click the Set Speech Parameters To Current
button. Meaning when you get the speech parms the way you want them
then go in and check the checkbox and click the Set Speech Parameters To
Current button and apply all the settings. Then switch to the next
synth, get the parms the way you want them and again check the checkbox
if it isn't already and click the Set Speech Parameters To Current. If
you don't click the button then it just uses what it had last and if it
didn't have anything setup from a last time then it does nothing and
uses the current setting. This procedure hasn't changed with 7.0.

Hi all. Running Beta 1 on Windows XP Home SP3, I'm unable to make a
set of engine specific speech parameters stick as I cycle through my
selected voices using Steve's nifty script. For each engine, I set my
desired parameters and check the Use Specific Speech Parameters and
Use Engine Specific Speech Parameters in the synthesizer selection
dialogue. But, when I cycle back around to Dectalk Access 32
Window-eyes, all my Eloquence voices are at absurdly fast rates,
matching my Dectalk rates. The Voiceware voices remain slow because
they only go up to rate 21. If I uncheck the Use Specific Speech
Parameters, the engine specific checkbox disappears. So, I know that
is not the answer. But, what is? I've set these engine specific
parameters thrice before giving up in frustration.
Thanks,
Orlando
