Well, 6.1 don't have the scripting in it, other then SET scripting. Just the Beta 1 of 7.0 has a new ETI elegrance. Which has a bug I think. I know it's being fixed on the next beta update. And 7.0 is faster in regard to getting info then 6.1. Just when using the ETI it goes into a so called zombie mode, even in Braille output it tends to be sluggish. If you can stand it till the next update use the Dectalk for now.
Just in case you are wondering. I don't use speech at all. Just only Braille output. Since I can't hear. *smile* Tho I only been told the ETI is sluggish by my friends cause it seemed to hindered the Braille speed. Until I set it back to detalk. Peace. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, July 27, 2008 1:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Very General Observations Hi, Would there be a difference if I installed the 6.1 version and then the beta version? I am running the beta. I want to check out the scripting aspect. Thanks. It's beta, it's not going to be perfect that is why it's called beta. Also Window Eyes 6.1 runs faster then jaws. I should know I have both. Jaws is sluggish and I can crash it before then you can say Freedom of speech. Oops did I used there Trade Mark word? Anyways. Just letting you know Beta isn't always going to be perfect as a finished product is. Get the 6.1 if you want speed. Also If you are using a high end Sapi and have a slow pc with hardly any ram it will cause a lot of slow down even with jaws it will do the same. Peace. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, July 27, 2008 11:45 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Very General Observations Hi, This message is in no way meant to be controversial. I am coming to Window-Eyes as a died in the wool JAWS user, so please take that into account. I am finding that everything about Window-Eyes reaction time to key presses is much more sluggish than it is with JAWS. For example, I can very easily out-type the speaking of characters with Window-Eyes. With JAWS, the characters are voiced immediately. Perhaps I can do something to make things snappier though and I haven't run into it. Thanks.
